Unit 1 Collective Agreement

A collective agreement is a legally binding discussion paper that defines all your benefits (including salaries), rights and obligations as McMaster employees. All responsibilities and obligations of the employer (McMaster) are also exposed. On September 12, as part of the collective agreement on your orientation, I will give a conference on your rights and benefits on September 12. During the orientation session, I will provide physical copies of the information discussed. Contact me after the date of the event if you could not participate. I will also be holding an information meeting on the use of health services in October. Health care continues like the old collective agreement with a few additions. There is an increase to a maximum of $15,000 in pharmaceutical coverage per person per year, as well as a maximum combined health care of $15,000. Maximum sehab coverage increases from $175 to $225 per year. Maximum language pathology is covered by 1300 USD per year and there is a maximum of 1,350 USD for dental care. CUPE 3902 has signed, since its inception, fifteen collective agreements for Block 1, which are now with the U of T.

The native of the country has had five strikes since its inception. Ryerson University is committed to a collective renewal agreement with CUPE Local 3904, Unit 1, which represents approximately 970 part-time and meeting teachers. Members of CUPE Local 3904, Unit One and the Board of Governors Negotiation Committee of the University have both ratified the interim agreement for a new collective agreement of the parties. The new agreement expires retroactively to August 16, 2017 and expires for a four-year term, which expires On August 15, 2021. Both sides welcome a negotiated solution. Details of the count will be announced shortly. The University and CUPE Local 3904, Unit One have reached an interim agreement for a new collective agreement. The provisional agreement is conditional on the ratification of the members of the Union and the University`s Board of Governors.

The union will hold a ratification vote in the week of February 26. Ratification by the university`s Board of Governors will follow shortly thereafter. We recently ratified a collective agreement, of which we have an interim copy. This agreement is now in force and will run from December 12, 2019 to August 31, 2022. Please note that the above verification agreement is being processed for consistency reasons. We will publish the final draft when it is available. The university looks forward to this opportunity to take advantage of the ministry`s assistance in the conciliation process to reach a fair and reasonable negotiated solution. Collective agreements set out the terms and conditions of employment of unionized workers as well as the rights, privileges and obligations of the union, employer and workers. The new collective agreement is valid until December 31, 2020 and contains all the terms of the old collective agreement, which expired on December 31, 2017. Although CUPE 3903 is a single union on site, we have three separate collective agreements.

Each contains what is called an application clause – it defines the employees who are covered by each agreement.
